We are Glory Bound!

NEW SEASON BEGINS ON SEPTEMBER 20th - Oh how the summer flew by! We are geared up and ready to begin 'Country Church at Home' on Sept 20. Join us for a time of fellowship and some great old-time music. Why not bring along a friend? See you there.

ALBERTA BOUND: Thanks for the great country hospitality on our recent trip to Gem, Alberta. A special thanks to the 'Pletts" for the delicious turkey supper and all the desserts. It was so nice to cool off in the basement over a cold pop after our very hot (40 degree) bus ride. Thanks also to the guys who did sound and overheads. We had a great time with you and trust that God used our time with you to encourage and uplift you.

COUNTRY CHURCH AT HOME: GloryBound wishes to thank all the friends who have made this season such a success. First of all, thanks to God who gives us the strength and joy to do His work. Thank you to Community Baptist Church for hosting this monthly event and to Penny, the church secretary, for always having the words typed for the songs. Thank you also to the kitchen workers, clean-up crews, janitor, ushers, greeters and all who so faithfully serve every month. You are such an important part of our ministry. Have a great great summer and we'll see you in September.

MANITOBA TRIP: We wish to thank everyone in Flin Flon, Thompson, Swan River, Pelly and Nipiwan for the tremendous tour this past weekend. We felt God's presence and our prayer is that you met God in a new and exciting way this weekend. We arrived home just after 3:00 a.m. on Monday morning, tired but thankful to be home safely.

GREAT NEWS: On April 28th the 'Bus Extrordinaire' men of our group took our bus in for a safety inspection and WE HAVE OUR STICKER! PRAISE THE LORD! It is exciting to see how God has worked during this time of not knowing what lay ahead. The men have bonded in a way that would not have been possible if they hadn't spent seven weeks working so closely together every day. Isn't it great that we have a God who wants the best for us and continues to shower His blessings upon us, even when we doubt or worry? So, as of today it is all systems go. If you have been waiting to book a concert, please contact Doug at (306)553-2331 or dmheid@xplornet.com .

GOOD NEWS: Well, thanks to the hard work of the guys in the group, the bus is almost transformed and ready to roll. Bill, Ken K and Ken P have spent every day for 6 hard long weeks laboring over rivets, seals and outside skin. Doug, Burt and Karan have also added days of work with oil changes, electrical work and tires. Now, we are ready for the safety and then onto the road again. Praise the Lord! Also a big thankyou to Brian and Mona for letting us use their workshop for the six weeks. God bless you!

BUS UPDATE: Thank you to our many friends for your prayers and support, both financially and verbally over the past few months. We are pleased to report that our own bus is being fixed, as I write, and God willing, we should be back on the road by the beginning of May. Our holiday is over and we are ready to move forward in our ministry. If you have been waiting to book a concert, please email doug@glorybound.ca and he will be able to schedule that. Thanks again for your prayers and hope to see you soon.

NOT SO GOOD NEWS: At long last here is an update on GloryBound. As many of you are aware, our bus was taken off the road in late summer. Without having a reliable vehicle, it is very hard to transport and carry the members of our group, equipment and luggage. We have done a few concerts where we were able to take several vehicles, but that is certainly not the preference of the group. We continue to wait on God for His leading in what our future plans will be. We know that He has the perfect plan for us and we need to wait on Him.

Thank you for your prayers on our behalf. God willing, we hope to be on the road again, SOON!

WHO IS GLORYBOUND? GloryBound began in 1998 with the realization that the music in our churches was changing and many of the old hymns that had been an inspiration and encouragement for years were not being sung anymore. A country beat was added to old familiar songs, some southern gospel and country were added to the mix and neighbours and friends were invited to worship on the third Sunday evening of each month.

Our group consists of four singers and a live band. Recently we have toured extensively in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Our mission is to exalt the name of Jesus, and to bring joy back into worship. It is a time for you to invite fringe and new people who may feel uncomfortable in a church service. We keep our service light and sometimes humorous to break the ice for newcomers.
